Dapitan City has been trying in recent years to catch up with the advance of technological communications. The City is being serviced by two telephone system (CRUZTELCO & PLDT), five cellular phone system (Smart, Talk-n-Text, Globe, Touch Mobile, and Sun cellular), two cable television, two radio stations, three postal offices and print media both  local and national newspapers. There is also an existing linkage via Single Side Band Radio between City Hall and the Provincial Capitol in Dipolog City as well as the rest of the municipalities in the province.

Ninety percent (90%) of the population have television sets which was the most popular source of news and information. About 30% of the households have radio sets.
