Dapitan City – The city government of Dapitan takes pride as one of the local government units in Region IX recognized by the Department of the Interior and Local Government
this year for its distinct and remarkable performance in administering its public funds.
The Seal of Good Financial Housekeeping (SGFH) formerly the Seal of Good Housekeeping, cites the compliance of the local government unit with accounting and auditing standards, rules and regulations.
Hence, the SGFH certification from the DILG is complete proof that the city government had spent and audited its public funds completely and with full transparency.
The Chief Executive, Mayor Rosalina Jalojos said she’s honored by the endowment which is a clear picture of her transparent governance that she can leave to her successors.
The seal has been pragmatic in increasing transparency and accountability and is one of the six area assessments for an LGU before it can be awarded the Seal of Good Local Governance (SGLG) which promotes proactive actions for disaster preparedness, social protection that is responsive to the needs of the different sectors like women, children, senior citizens, persons with disability, business-friendliness and competitiveness; maintaining the peace and order in the community; and environmental management.
